5 Tips for a Festive Holiday Party

The holidays are here, and that means it’s time to celebrate! With the holiday season comes a variety of holiday parties filled with fun, food and jolly activities. Whether you are a seasoned-party pro or it is your first time hosting, we have gathered five tips to help inspire a festive holiday party.

Theme

A theme can add a new layer of fun! Have a favorite Christmas movie, book or song? Let it inspire your whole party! Once you have picked your theme, find or make decorations that will make the theme come to life. Plan on playing music during the party? Put together a party playlist inspired by your theme. If your theme is inspired by a movie, let the movie play in the background and/or have a holiday watch party.  

Food

Good food is an essential part of any holiday party! Whether you plan to serve a full-course meal or hors d’oeuvres, there are many different options. Preparing a menu in advance can help you create the perfect festive feast and save time. Be sure to select a variety of recipes that tie into your Christmas theme. Holiday gift exchanges are always a fun way to engage guests. For a traditional option, host a white elephant or ornament exchange. For something a little different, exchange gift cards, wine or even books. Or think out-of-the box and come up with your very own exchange based on your theme.
